About this role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Market Data Engineer to join our Global Market Data Technology team. In this critical role, you will provide operational support, manage infrastructure, and apply engineering expertise to our real-time market data platforms. Your contributions will ensure the seamless delivery of financial data supporting Wells Fargo's trading, risk management, and analytics systems.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global teams and support a range of activities, including infrastructure upgrades, incident response, and BCP/DR operations. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient with LSEG TREP, Bloomberg, and ACTIV Financial (Options IT), and will partner closely with US-based engineers to maintain a stable, high-performance, and efficient market data environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for market data platforms, including: (LSEG TREP) - Wells Fargo's core market data distribution platform, Bloomberg - Supporting Bloomberg infrastructure, desktop applications, and data feeds, and ACTIV Financial - OptionsIT - Supporting ACTIV Financial' s real-time data services.
  • Monitor and optimise market data infrastructure to ensure low-latency, high-availability performance.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, trading desks, and vendor support teams to resolve data and connectivity issues.
  • Execute market data infrastructure upgrades, patches, and migrations outside US business hours.
  • Implement and manage failover testing, hardware/software refreshes, and configuration changes.
  • Work closely with global engineering teams on TREP architecture improvements and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Perform scheduled BCP/DR tests, ensuring system reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support failover events and contingency planning for market data platform resiliency.
  • Automation & Performance Optimisation
  • Develop scripts and tools using Python, Bash, or Ansible to automate deployments, monitoring, and failover processes.
  • Provide incident management and escalation for US business units.
  • Ensure follow-the-sun support by working closely with US-based teams to handoff and resolve ongoing issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Experience in market data infrastructure, engineering, or support within a financial institution.
  • Strong expertise in LSEG TREP (Refinitiv RMDS, MDDP) - installation, administration, and tuning.
  • Experience with Bloomberg (server, desktop, data feeds) and ACTIV Financial (OptionsIT) platforms.
  • Familiarity with market data entitlements, permissioning, and feed distribution.
  • Technical & Infrastructure Expertise
  • Linux/Unix Administration (Red Hat preferred) - experience managing market data servers.
  • Networking knowledge - multicast, TCP/IP, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
  • Scripting & Automation - hands-on experience with Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure upgrades, software deployments, and configuration changes.
  • BCP/Disaster Recovery & Risk Management
  • Experience participating in failover events, BCP drills, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles in a financial services environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud Market Data Solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Knowledge of middleware technologies for market data processing.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation.
