JSS are partnering with a globally renowned, luxury brand who are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their growing and ambitious Data team. Reporting into the Head of Data and initially leading a small team of Data Engineers.

My client is looking for a Data Engineering Lead with a breadth of experience to lead a group of data engineers in designing, building, and maintaining the pipelines that drive their ever growing clients data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strategic vision for engineering success, with the ability to identify the best approaches and guide the team toward optimal solutions. You'll collaborate closely with leads across various disciplines within and beyond the Data Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on training to the team, promoting best practices in data engineering.
• Drive the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of robust data pipelines, systems, and architectures.
• Lead architectural decisions for key data platforms
• Mentor team members across all levels, fostering new workflows and improved development practices. Identify opportunities to expand both the skills and capabilities of the data team.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and build responsive data models.
• Develop and manage ETL processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Join our Google Cloud Platform management team, taking ownership of the platform's security, consistency, efficiency, and overall operation.

Experience Required

• Cloud Experience - GCP (Google Cloud Platform) primarily with some AWS & Azure
• Extensive SQL experience and comfortable with Python & JavaScript
• Terraform and infrastructure as code
• Technical Leadership experience. This is not a pure hands on or pure leadership position. Strong Senior Data Engineers looking for progression will also be considered.

Salary:£100K and benefits package

Location:London - Hybrid 2 days per week with some flexibility
