Lead Credit Data Analyst

Are you a data analyst looking to take your skills to the next level in a role that blends technical depth with strategic influence? We’re hiring a Lead Credit Data Analyst to work with large, complex datasets and help shape credit risk decisions across the business by having responsibility for the continuous development and management of TEGP Credit Risk reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Working with SQL, Power BI, and Python to extract, clean, and analyze data from platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Building and automating MI reports that inform senior leadership and credit committees.
  • Solving real-world problems using data—forecasting risk, optimizing decision models, and identifying performance trends.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (sales, commercial, collections) to turn insights into action.
  • Support the Credit Risk Manager – SME in optimising the decision engine tools and models, providing retrospective performance analysis alongside forecasting the impacts to proposed policy changes
  • Explore, cleanse and utilise vast customer datasets to build risk segmentation and mitigation strategies
  • Creating new datasets and building analytical views of credit performance to support risk decisioning
  • Driving improvements in data processes and influencing credit strategy through evidence-based recommendations.

We’ll support you to work flexibly from home (providing a suite of IT equipment), whilst coming together on-site to offer face-to-face support and collaboration.

Salary: Up to £65,000pa

Bonus: Up to 20%

Location: KT20 6RP

Contract type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 3 days a week in the office and 2 days at home

What are we looking for in you?
  • The successful candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment and have exceptional attention to detail. Furthermore, you will be a team player who can communicate with colleagues with logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience of credit risk management, including portfolio risk management and risk modelling.
  • Knowledge of Decision Engines and development.
  • Working knowledge of other automating solutions (implementation and maintenance).
What skills we are looking for
  • Extensive experience of SQL for querying and analysing large datasets; experience with Python or R is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including expertise in complex formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools.
  • Experience in assessing portfolio performances against KPIs.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation, including experience in creating dashboards for use at a senior management level
