The Opportunity – Operational Analyst/Consultant

Our client is looking for a positive, flexible self-starter to join their team as a Junior Analyst, our client would consider a recent graduate with strong maths and analytical skills for this role. This is an exciting opportunity role in delivering operational analysis capability as an integral part of a small, agile, and growing business.

Their team of analysts, consultants and Defence SMEs work closely with their customers to deliver high-impact services and solutions. Data science and operational analysis are a key part of the Company’s capability.

As a Junior Analyst your role will include:

1. Designing, developing, and running analysis models.
   
   
2. Using agile approaches to develop models and tools, including requirements capture, design, development, testing and management.
   
   
3. Collating, managing, structuring, analysing and visualising data.
   
   
4. Deriving unique insights from data to inform senior-level decision making.
   
   
5. Taking a consultative approach to your work, understanding how your work contributes to delivering a great result for our clients.
   
   
6. Developing strong relationships with the wider Company’s team.
   
   Skills/Qualifications – Junior Analyst/Consultant:
   
   
7. Software development using Python.
   
   
8. Operational Analysis (OA) approaches and techniques
   
   
9. Strong mathematical skills
   
   
10. Requirements gathering
    
    
11. Software design
    
    
12. Strong data analysis skills
    
    
13. Highly numerate
    
    
14. A self-starter and team player.
    
    
15. Good communication skills, enabling you to work confidently with team members and clients.
    
    
16. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise your work.
    
    
17. Attention to detail and the drive to see work through to completion.

19. Degree , MSc or equivalent in Mathematics , Numerical, Computing based subject
    
    Knowledge and experience of the following is desirable:
    
    
20. Experience working within UK MoD
    
    
21. UI/UX design
    
    
22. Discrete event simulation
    
    
23. Data science techniques
    
    
24. Advanced data analysis in Excel
    
    
25. Advanced VBA
    
    
26. Knowledge of current software development approaches, platforms and best practice.
    
    
27. Experience of designing and deploying Microsoft365, SharePoint, PowerBI, Dataverse and PowerApps solutions.
    
    Recent UK Defence Security Clearance (SC) would be of interest but is not essential.
    
    UK office is based just outside Winchester. The role will require a blend of working from our client’s office and occasional travel to client sites
    
    The Company’s main clients will be based around key UK Defence establishments in the south of England.
