ABOUT REGULATORY ENGINEERING

Regulatory Engineering and the associated technology team are responsible for protecting this reputation through taking responsibility for the reporting of all of the firm’s activities to the many regulators throughout the world. In order to achieve this, the team processes all of the firm’s activity, be it securities or derivatives, within each of the jurisdictions in which the firm operates. The candidate will be part of the global team with presence in New York, London, Warsaw, Bangalore, Singapore, and Tokyo

How will you fulfil your potential?

Work closely with technology and strategy teams across the firm to build high quality, secure, and maintainable systems using approved tools and software development practices You will partner with the global technology and business teams to develop and implement solutions to fulfil regulatory obligations of the firm Manage relationship and workflows with multiple stakeholders and enhance business understanding in a cross product role Analyse key performance metrics, monitoring success of initiatives, optimizing the approach and reporting to key stakeholders Enhance your technology skills by working closely with engineers working on cutting edge system

RESPONSIBILIITES

Evaluate, engineer, customize and extend solutions. Expectation is that you will be heavily hands on coding daily. Substantial degree of interaction with business users to provide technical solutions. Build relationships with users and facilitate requirements gathering and negotiating project scope.  Leading by example and guiding the junior team members effectively.

DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS 

Successful candidates have a great opportunity to work in a dedicated and highly-motivated team, work closely with functional, technical and business experts, and develop an understanding of the full range of products traded by the firm. Ambitious candidates will be able to progress to technical expert roles, within the team.

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

Technical

Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and developing Java-based applications using industry-standard technologies. Familiar with debugging and performance tuning, along with a good understanding of installing, maintaining, and monitoring Java applications. Know software development tools such as Git, SVN, Arti factory and Jira. Familiar with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity Excellent problem solving and Design skills with focus on software quality – ability to write clean code. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and designing for performance and resiliency.  Good knowledge of testing frameworks (JUnit/Testing/Fitnesse) and concepts (Test Driven Development, Regression and Parametric Testing) Experience in Big Data processing platform/tools like Hadoop and Spark (preferred). Experience with near real time transactional systems with NoSQL databases like Kafka, Elastic Search(preferred).

Relevant

Demonstrates strong oral, written, and presentation skills.  Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and not afraid to roll up their sleeves to help reach the team’s challenging objectives. Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously and executes projects independently. Agile Methodology planning is preferred.
