Global Services Data Analyst – Business Intelligence

Description:

The successful applicant will support Operation Bramber. This is an investigation into potential offences at a large medical establishment in Sussex. These cases are immeasurably impactful on the families of victims and survivors. You will be part of a team which will thoroughly investigate allegations in order to bring any potential offenders to justice and help ensure the safety of the general public.

Operation Bramber is a small team of Detectives and Criminal Investigators dedicated to this investigation. We are investigating multiple cases where concerns exist over the treatment and care provided to patients.

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a person who can identify connections from big data sets and evolving intelligence. You will have to ask insightful questions to get to the heart of a problem. You’ll identify, interrogate, and assess information from a range of covert and overt information sources. You will have to get to grips with complex and technical problems, explain your thinking, and come up with creative solutions to help tackle crime.
You will be working on critical, strategic, and high-risk incidents. At times you will be under pressure to build a big picture from small pieces of intelligence and threads of data. You will be flexible and creative, and able to communicate your findings to front-line staff and chief officers. Your problem-solving, attention to detail, and presentational skills will be crucial in this investigation, where analysis of key data is required.

Key Responsibilities:
Intelligence Analysts provide sophisticated analysis that supports officers and staff in effective decision making around complex problems. This is critical when policing is being asked to do more with less, and where accurate information and persuasive judgement needs to reach the right people quickly.
You will advise and assist in all aspects of this investigation by providing strategic and tactical analysis of intelligence and evidence. You will identify offenders, series and trends, and information gaps. You will suggest opportunities to gather intelligence and evidence in order to progress the investigation, solve problems or otherwise reduce threat, harm and risk.
Please note that due to the nature of this job, there will be times you may be exposed to investigations of a distressing nature.

Skills & Experience:
We are looking for candidates with the following essential skills and experience. We will assess your application against these specific criteria, which should be clearly evidenced within your application form:
– Graduate calibre or equivalent qualification, or with proven and well-evidenced experience of crime/intelligence analysis in a relevant field.
– A high standard of problem-solving skills.
– Well-developed computer skills including the ability to learn bespoke systems, and design and develop recording and analysis frameworks by using databases, spreadsheets and other analytical tools.
– The ability to use logic and reasoning to influence others in a professional manner, to persuade people by using powerful arguments; identifying clear aims in negotiations and achieving satisfactory outcomes.
– Previous experience of interpreting and evaluating large sets of qualitative and quantitative data to extract salient points, develop inferences, and make recommendations.
– Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to present appropriately to groups or individuals, including senior managers and partner agencies.
– The ability to plan ahead, to manage and prioritise their workload unsupervised and respond flexibly to rapidly changing demands.
– The post-holder must take personal responsibility for their actions and for resolving issues or problems that arise, being focused on achieving high-quality results and developing skills and knowledge.
– The ability to work calmly and effectively, especially under pressure.
– A flexible approach towards achieving team objectives and a willingness to undertake a wide range of duties.

How to Find Hidden Machine Learning Jobs in the UK Using Professional Bodies like BCS, Turing Society & More

Machine learning (ML) continues to transform sectors across the UK—from fintech and retail to healthtech and autonomous systems. But while the demand for ML engineers, researchers, and applied scientists is growing, many of the best opportunities are never posted on traditional job boards. So, where do you find them? The answer lies in professional bodies, academic-industry networks, and tight-knit ML communities. In this guide, we’ll show you how to uncover hidden machine learning jobs in the UK by engaging with groups like the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), Turing Society, Alan Turing Institute, and others. We’ll explore how to use member directories, CPD events, SIGs (Special Interest Groups), and community projects to build connections, gain early access to job leads, and raise your professional profile in the ML ecosystem.

How to Get a Better Machine Learning Job After a Lay-Off or Redundancy

Redundancy in machine learning can feel especially frustrating when your role was technically advanced, strategically important, or AI-facing. But the UK still has strong demand for machine learning professionals across fintech, healthtech, retail, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, and generative AI. Whether you're a research-oriented ML engineer, production-focused MLOps developer, or applied scientist, this guide is designed to help you bounce back from redundancy and find a better opportunity that suits your goals.

Machine Learning Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Figure Out Your True Worth in Seconds

Why last year’s pay survey is useless for UK ML professionals today Ask a Machine Learning Engineer wrangling transformer checkpoints, an MLOps Lead firefighting drift alarms, or a Research Scientist training diffusion models at 3 a.m.: “Am I earning what I deserve?” The honest answer changes monthly. A single OpenAI model drop doubles GPU demand, healthcare regulators release fresh explainability guidance, & a fintech unicorn pays six figures for vector‑search expertise. Each shock nudges salary bands. Any PDF salary guide printed in 2024 now looks like an outdated Jupyter notebook—missing the gen‑AI tsunami, the surge in edge inference, & the UK’s new Responsible‑AI framework. To give ML professionals an accurate benchmark, MachineLearningJobs.co.uk distilled a transparent, three‑factor formula that estimates a realistic 2025 salary in under a minute. Feed in your discipline, UK region, & seniority; you’ll receive a defensible figure—no stale averages, no guesswork. This article unpacks the formula, highlights the forces driving ML pay skyward, & offers five practical moves to boost your value inside the next ninety days.
