iO Associates are working with a Health Tech organisation that provides innovative software solutions for healthcare organisations, specialising in improving clinical workflows and collaboration by integrating disparate healthcare IT systems.

They are looking for a Database Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare reporting and data analysis needs, and involves collaborating with teams to ensure the database infrastructure supports high-performance workflows, secure data handling, and actionable insights through robust reporting mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the database infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and optimising database schemas, indexes, and queries to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive patient data and adhering to industry standards.
  • Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and optimising database queries.
  • Developing and maintaining effective backup and recovery strategies.
  • Working closely with development, integration, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Skills:

  • Experience with AWS services, especially RDS, EC2, and S3.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance standards in healthcare.
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration, development, and maintenance.
  • SQL Server skills, including database design, T-SQL, and performance tuning.
  • Hands on experience with Power BI for healthcare reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
