Role Overview:
We are looking for aHead of Contracts for the National Security and Defence area of Leidos Innovations UK. The role holder will assist and report directly to UK Contracts Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strong commercial and contractual programme leadership Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic commercial activities in close collaboration with Programme Director and Finance Director Support strategic commercial initiatives as directed by Leidos UK Business and Programme Director Draft and negotiate commercially complex contract change proposals Understand and scrutinize the financial performance of the programme identifying target areas for improvement Lead contractual interactions with the Customer on strategic commercial issues Manage a small team of contracts managers Ensure that the financial aspects and impact of the contract are clear to all parties Ensure that senior stakeholders are appropriately informed of programme developments and strategic direction Ensure overall programme compliance with commercial roadmap Develop and maintain good working relationships with the customer commercial/contracts team Must be a working contract manager, e.g. taking an active role in the performance of the contract and proactively working to identify risks, issues and opportunities and develop and implement strategies to mitigate the risks, resolve the issues and capitalize on the opportunities, and will be willing to cross functional lines to provide support to the programme leadership team when and where needed Support role in regular, intensive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual technical and financial governance meetings (both internal and with the customer) in a fast-paced environment Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively, both internally, with technical staff, peers, and management as well as externally, with customers, regulators and others Strong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial status Excellent written and verbal communications skills Liaison with other Leidos operating units and corporate departments where applicable
