I am looking for someone who is Data orientated….in fact, Data obsessed! to fulfill a new Graduate / Junior Data Analyst / SQL Report Writer position.

The role: Graduate Data Analyst

JOB PURPOSE: To develop reports and present data as required, to support the continuing needs of my clients group of companies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Obtain, document, and interpret business requirements.

2. Develop, test, and maintain reports to present business data appropriately.

3. Investigate, analyse and document reported defects.

4. Perform maintenance on reports and correct identified defects.

5. Maintain technical documentation relating to reports

6. Ensure that the Source Control Management system is used effectively to store report definition files.

7. Monitor the performance of reports.

8. Create scheduled tasks to distribute reports regularly, using the tools supplied.

9. Monitor and investigate Scheduler errors, resolving them as appropriate.

10. Extract data from in-house databases and present the data when required on an ad-hoc basis.

11. Ensure users can access self-serve reports and Business Intelligence (BI) tools with the required availability and appropriate security.

12. Assist in other data-related activities, such as data migration and data cleansing.

13. To undertake other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with their Line Manager.

Skills and experience needed for the Junior Report Writer position include;

1. A recent computer science graduate OR experience working in a Junior/graduate Report Writer role.

2. T-SQL experience within Microsoft SQL Server.

3. Experience with SQL Report Writing tools ( Jasper).

4. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and Macros)

5. Analytical and problem-solving skills.

6. Good attention to detail.

7. Team player.

8. Excellent communication skills.

Desirable

* Degree in IT, Science, or Maths.
* Experience using tools such as Asana and Google Apps.
* Experience using source control systems such as Git or SVN.
* Use of Business Intelligence tools.
