Geomatics Analyst - Offshore

Are you passionate about geospatial data and eager to play a pivotal role in the renewable marine industry? Join Beam as a Geomatics Analyst and be at the forefront of our hydrographic survey and inspection projects. You will ensure the highest standards of data quality and contribute to cutting-edge projects using the latest survey technologies.


Your Role:

As a Geomatics Analyst, you will be integral to our mission of delivering precise and reliable survey data on our vessels. Your day-to-day activities will involve:

  • Quality Control & Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of acquired geospatial survey data, as well as final survey delivery products, aligning with project specifications.
  • Data Processing: Process survey data collected from various platforms (vessel, USV, AUV, ROV, ASV) and produce high-quality survey data products.
  • Knowledge Development: Continuously develop your expertise in survey and geospatial applications and techniques, staying ahead of industry advancements.
  • Documentation & Handover: Maintain comprehensive handover notes, a detailed processing log, and a checklist to ensure seamless project continuity.
  • Support & Administration: Provide crucial support to our offshore teams and manage the setup and administration of data processing hardware and software.

  • A degree in Surveying, Hydrography, Ocean Science, Geography, GeoData or a related data/science/engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in offshore hydrographic and inspection survey projects as a Data Processor.
  • Strong data management skills, ensuring efficient and accurate data handling.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and mindfulness.
  • EIVA NaviEdit and NaviModel.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience as an Online Surveyor involved in the setup of survey systems and overseeing acquisition.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, enhancing your ability to automate and streamline processes.
  • Project management skills to contribute to the successful planning and execution of survey projects.
  • Software: QGIS, Microsoft SQL Server, QPS Qinsy, and EIVA NaviPac.
