Inspire Beyond the Classroom: Full-Time Lead Practitioner of Geography at Outstanding Mixed School (September 2025 - Focus on Holistic Development)

More than just a teaching role, this is a strategic leadership position to empower both students and colleagues at our Outstanding mixed school in London. We are seeking an inspiring Full-Time Lead Practitioner of Geography to join us from September 2025, someone who is not only a pedagogical expert but also deeply committed to fostering holistic understanding and critical thinking skills in every student.

As Lead Practitioner, you will be instrumental in:

  • Modelling Exemplary Practice: Deliver outstanding Geography lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, showcasing innovative teaching strategies that promote deep learning, curiosity, and a genuine connection to geographical concepts.

  • Enhancing Teaching & Learning: Lead initiatives to improve teaching and learning outcomes in Geography, focusing on student engagement, differentiation, and the development of independent learners.

  • Building Professional Capacity: Design and deliver tailored professional development for Geography staff, nurturing their expertise and supporting their growth as outstanding educators.

  • Curriculum Enrichment: Oversee the development of stimulating extra-curricular Geography opportunities, fostering student passion through clubs, societies, and meaningful local and potentially international fieldwork experiences.

  • Promoting Geographical Literacy: Champion the relevance of Geography across the curriculum, working with other departments to ensure students develop strong geographical knowledge and skills that underpin interdisciplinary understanding.

  • Contributing to School Culture: Play a vital role in our school’s positive and inclusive ethos, supporting the well-being and academic success of all students and staff within our diverse mixed community.
