For our company in the UK and Ireland, we are currently looking for a

General Manager / Managing Director (m/f/x) based in the UK

YOUR TASKS

  1. Business Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, expand customer base, and improve profitability
  2. Sales in UK and Ireland: Oversee sales activities, maintain and develop customer relationships and attend (international) trade fairs
  3. Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance and compliance to tax regulations
  4. Team Leadership: Support and motivate the small team, ensuring productivity, motivation and the monthly payroll in cooperation with our accountant
  5. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all legal, regulatory, and health & safety standards are met
  6. Managing and controlling distributors agreements and reports
  7. International cooperations: Engage and cooperate within our global team

YOUR PROFILE

  1. Knowledge of the horticultural/agricultural industry
  2. Enthusiastic, customer-friendly personality with an affinity to greenhouse horticulture
  3. Willingness to get involved in day-to-day operations
  4. Strong commercial expertise with the ability to drive revenue and profitability
  5. Experience in financial management and business planning
  6. Technical background regarding ornamental plants is a plus
  7. Experience in a leadership role
  8. Ability and willingness to travel (30-40%), including both international and domestic trips
