Your Impact

You will be working on complex industrial real-time operating systems involving real-time data acquisition and post-processing of data for analysis and reports. As part of the systems engineering team, we develop state-of-the-art monitoring systems used for asset monitoring at electrical substations. You will act as a technical product owner, own the refinement of requirements in consultation with the Product Owner Group, lead the development and testing for new feature development and incremental product releases. Involved in all facets of development starting from requirements specification, validating, verification, and deployment. Responsible for product quality and reliability along with feature completion.

Here's where you'll demonstrate your proficiencies:

  • Embedded advanced substation measurement system firmware development with specific focus on Linux and real-time embedded systems.
  • Developing advanced firmware solutions for critical substation monitoring and diagnosis requirements.
  • Diagnostic skill for sustainable development.
  • Version Management and traceability.
  • Work with teams across the organization including customers for technical assistance.
  • Coordinated firmware development activity and monitors quality and schedule.
  • Supports development team and provides needed pre-qualification and verification testing. Ensure compliance to all regulatory needs for the product and business.
  • Support product transition to mass manufacturing.
  • Supports sales and support team post-release to timely meet customer needs.
  • Follow software development and validation processes and continuously improve them.
  • Use Scrum Agile Methodology for software development.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum5 yearsof industry experience with Embedded systems architecture definition, design, and support (High Speed Serial IO, Embedded Processor).
  • Experience with DSP programming. Familiar with use of Matlab.
  • Expertise in embedded Linux and has written & implemented real-time data acquisition, scheduling, and design applications.
  • Expertise in Embedded C/C++. Code development in a hard real-time, multi-threaded environment.
  • TCP/IP & serial communications, other drivers & protocols. Understanding and exposure to industrial communication protocols like IEC 61850, DNP 3.0, MODBUS, IEC 60870-5 etc.
  • Hands-on experience in programming different peripheral interfaces like UART, I2C, SPI etc.
  • Should have been part of entire product development and product lifecycle.
  • Exposure to defensive programming and debugging methodologies.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills for root cause determination and fixing issues.
  • Flexible towards changes in priorities, sense of urgency, and focus on results.
  • Ability to work independently, self-driven.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of unit test frameworks for Linux.
  • Programming experience with device drivers.
  • Experience in fault location, fault recording and/or power quality.
  • Passion for electrical, transmission, and distribution industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Cyber security implementation.
  • Cryptographic libraries such as OpenSSL.
  • Familiar with regulatory needs like CE/UL, IEC, IEEE needs for High power industry.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
