Your Role

The FinOps Data Analyst will prepare and deliver complex data products and analysis based on Cloud Service usage, cost, and revenue data as specified by Anaplan Engineering and Business teams. This will include the preparation of ad hoc reports as well as the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of high-quality “always on” reporting capabilities in tools including PowerBI and Anaplan. The candidate will have hands-on experience with Google and AWS Data Products, analysis tools including SQL, Python, Power BI, and Databricks, as well as familiarity with Cloud Services from major providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Your Impact

  • Report Design, Build and Maintain: Collaborate with stakeholders to design reports in PowerBI and other platforms as needed as well as analytical data sets, including prototyping, usability testing, and data visualization, deliver and maintain these reports to meet ongoing business needs.
  • Work with internal Engineering, Finance and Product teams to ensure that FinOps data products continue to meet stakeholder needs
  • Work with internal Engineering, IT and Product teams to make sure they are aware of FinOps’ data needs and that they are prioritized and delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Document and maintain Anaplan FinOps data products including data sets, integrations, and reports.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of budgets and forecasts for cloud services, performing regular reviews with stakeholders to ensure financial, business and capacity goals are met.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models to support business requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with FinOps team, Engineering, AoA, and as needed with data scientists/ analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products, reports and analysis.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in data analysis, particularly with tools from cloud platforms like Google Cloud.
  • Preferred certifications in Google Cloud Platform, BI Tools, FinOps, and Cloud Finance.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, BI tools, and Google Data Products.

Nice to Have

  • Critical thinking and problem solving: ability to critically analyze your own as well as the team’s work. The ability to think broadly to inform stakeholder requirements as well as provide guidance to stakeholders on key insights.
  • Strong analytical skills: with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed recommendations.
  • Cloud Data Services: experience in the use of data products such as BigQuery, Athena, Redshift, Databricks to perform and deliver analysis as required by stakeholders.
  • Python: hands-on experience with Python, especially in handling semi/unstructured data and REST API integration.
  • BI Tools: working knowledge with BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau), the development lifecycle of BI, report building and scheduling, data modeling within these tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with Agile project approaches (Scrum/ Kanban) and tools such as Jira.
