We are hiring at ASE Global for a Financial Data Analyst to join our team in the UK!

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Data Analyst with expertise in Power BI to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing financial data, generating insights, and developing reports that support decision-making across the organisation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn raw data into actionable intelligence, helping drive business growth and operational efficiency and acting as a business partner to the broader business.

The successful candidate will work in a remote work model anywhere in the UK!

What your day will look like:

  • Analyze financial data sets, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports
  • Provide data-driven insights into key financial performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, profitability, and cost management
  • Conduct variance analysis to explain deviations from budget or forecast and offer recommendations for improvement
  • Power BI Reporting: Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to present complex financial data in a clear, actionable manner
  • Transform raw data into user-friendly visualizations and self-service reports for stakeholders across various departments
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of all Power BI reports by regularly validating data integrity and refining report structures
  • Data Collection and Management: Gather data from multiple internal and external sources (e.g., financial databases, ERP systems, Excel files) and ensure proper data management
  • Develop data models and queries to extract, clean, and prepare financial data for analysis and reporting
  • Automate data collection processes where possible to improve efficiency
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with finance, accounting, business intelligence, and operational teams to gather reporting requirements and deliver insights that drive business decisions
  • Present financial insights and data trends to stakeholders, ensuring they understand the implications for business strategy
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed, providing deep dives into specific areas of concern or opportunity
  • Create customized reports and analytical tools for senior management to support special projects or initiatives

About You:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field is essential
  • 3+ years’ experience in financial data analysis, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making
  • Proven experience in developing reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial statement analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (including DAX and Power Query)
  • Experience working with financial databases and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of data modelling, querying languages (SQL), and ETL processes
  • Ability to work with large data sets and perform complex analysis while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Power BI Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)
  • Financial Analyst certifications such as CFA, FMVA, or CPA
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerBI
  • Previous experience working for a SaaS, Enterprise Software or Private Equity business in a finance function is highly advantageous
  • Fast learner and adaptable – time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Looker
  • Experience with Jira
  • Familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and integrating Power BI with cloud platforms
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential
  • Legally authorised to work in the UK
