To support our progress, we are recruiting for a Payroll Data & Process Analyst to join our team at Ibstock Head Office, LE67 6HS.

Job Purpose

The Payroll Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll by ensuring data integrity, compliance, and process efficiency. This role focuses on payroll data integrity, process, reporting and system optimisation, while also contributing to payroll process improvements and compliance monitoring. The Payroll Analyst will play a key role in developing reporting, enhancing controls, and supporting payroll automation initiatives to improve data quality, accuracy and efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

Payroll Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including National Minimum Wage (NMW) monitoring and reporting.
  • Maintain and develop Average Holiday Pay data and calculators to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
  • Create and develop effective and automated payroll process control checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payroll runs.
  • Support payroll audits by preparing accurate data and responding to audit queries.

Payroll Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Maintain and continually develop regular payroll and costing reports to support Finance in budget control, cost analysis, and forecasting.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation and reporting.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting payroll/employee data and producing clear and concise reports and insights.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with HR, Finance, and external providers.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and adaptable.
  • Experience with payroll/HR systems (e.g. ResourceLink or similar).
Key Performance Indicators
  • Accuracy and timeliness of payroll reporting and controls.
  • Compliance with statutory payroll requirements (NMW, holiday pay, HMRC obligations).
  • Reduction in payroll errors and exceptions through improved controls.
  • Quality and accuracy of finance and costing reports.
  • Effectiveness of timesheet improvement processes.
