The mission of the ESG Corporate IT Team, in strong partnership with the Sustainability team and the Sustainability performance team in the Corporate functions, is to provide strategic vision, advise on technology roadmap and deliver the technology services that will support the Sustainability House ambitions

In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, sustainability has emerged as a critical factor driving not only corporate responsibility but also long-term success and resilience. As companies strive to align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, the role of data management in driving sustainable performance has become increasingly apparent.

Your role @ Chanel

We are looking for an IT ESG Data Solutions architect that will be responsible of overseeing the design, development, and management of data products while ensuring that the underlying data architecture supports these products effectively.

This role bridges the gap between strategic product management and technical data architecture, ensuring that data products are both technically robust and aligned with business objectives.

The IT ESG Solutions Data architect will report to the IT Domain Lead for ESG and work in close relationships with the Sustainability performance department stakeholders, the global data governance team, the federated data platform team and the team in charge of implementing our new ESG performance reporting tool.

Among other responsibilities, the IT ESG Solutions Data architect will:

Define the vision and strategy for data products in alignment with business goals Develop a roadmap for data product development and lifecycle management Gather and prioritize requirements from stakeholders for data products Translate business needs into technical specifications and architectural designs Design scalable and efficient data architectures to support ESG data products Create and maintain data models, schemas, and data integration processes Work closely with other IT professionals such data engineers, data scientists, developers, and local Chanel entities peers to build and enhance data products. Ensure that the development team understands product requirements and architectural guidelines Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear communication and alignment Provide regular updates on product development, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments Oversee the implementation of ETL processes to integrate data from various sources Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the data pipeline Ensure that data products meet quality standards and performance benchmarks. Coordinate testing and validation activities for data products Monitor the performance of data products and underlying data architecture Implement optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and scalability Ensure that data governance policies are adhered to within data products and architecture Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information Ensure data architecture is efficient and scalable to handle growing data volumes and future demands Maintain comprehensive documentation of data product specifications and architectural designs Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders

Excellent project planning and implementation skills with significant experience Experience in managing projects, coordinating teams, and meeting deadlines. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Excellent organizational, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to teach others Experience in gathering and prioritizing product requirements Ability to analyse complex data sets and derive actionable insights A great collaborative and team spirit and strong interpersonal and influencing skills to enable you to propose the right choice, validate the good decision, build community, … within the multiple partners in the company. Passionate, openminded and motivated.

Requirements

Strong experience with data architecture design and implementation Proficiency in data technologies, data modelling, and ETL tools, knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is a plus Knowledge of data visualisation and business intelligence tools Strong understanding of product management principles and practices. Ability to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps. Understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques Understanding of sustainability concepts, metrics, and reporting standards and familiar with ESG frameworks and regulations English will be the main working language. Proficiency in other languages, especially French, and/or exposure to several cultures and ways of working is a plus. Ability to succeed in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
