Job Title: ERP Data Engineer
Location: Bolton
Salary: Circa £47,000 depending on experience
Working: Hybrid – 3 to 4 days per week on-site

Our Client

A high-technology engineering organisation is seeking an ERP Data Engineer to join their Central Data Team. This team is instrumental in ensuring the effectiveness of tools, processes, and policies that underpin key engineering operations. With a strong focus on data accuracy and ERP system performance, this role plays a central part in delivering operational excellence across the business.

The organisation offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where your experience with ERP systems - particularly SAP - will be key in driving standardisation and process improvements across engineering and manufacturing functions. Key Responsibilities
 
Provide first-line support for daily ERP-related issues and master data concerns.
Use SAP to analyse, interpret, and communicate data insights linked to business decisions.
Define and manage audit strategies in line with the organisation’s master data policy.
Promote data integrity through involvement in the Operational Excellence master data work stream.
Review engineering processes to ensure they support robust MRP outputs.
Generate and distribute KPI reports across relevant departments.
Manage auditing strategies related to master data, such as material masters, BOMs, and routings.
Implement processes for managing routing times to optimise capacity and scheduling in SAP.
Define assembly structures from deliverables down to sub-components and lead process improvements to support timely customer delivery.
Collaborate with outsourced support partners to implement, test, and train teams on SAP system enhancements.
Conduct system regression testing and maintain up-to-date SAP user guides.
Produce requirement analysis documents and functional specifications based on business needs.
Experience
 
Proven experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
Prior exposure to SAP systems is beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Attention to detail with a consistent track record of delivering process improvements.
Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-led decisions.
Qualifications
 
HNC level qualification or equivalent is required.
APICS Supply Chain certification is desirable but not essential.
