Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a consultative engineering leader to join our UK business and assume a key role within the wider EMEA Publicis Sapient Energy & Commodities (E&C) business.

Leveraging your industry and product expertise, you will act as a lead for client engagements, helping deliver innovative solutions in the energy & commodities trading space with a particular focus on the Energy and Commodities Supply and Trading sector.


Responsibilities

Your Impact

  1. Key contributor to developing and executing a differentiated technology strategy capability at Publicis Sapient
  2. Create a strong technology strategy related to our offerings and develop new business
  3. Develop adaptive IT strategies based on a deep understanding of our client's business
  4. Assess the current state of technology organizations and their capabilities; produce value and outcome-based strategic roadmaps
  5. Design and facilitate effective client workshops to accelerate current state understanding, identify opportunities, and build consensus across a broad set of business and IT stakeholders
  6. Lead and inspire global technology teams to deliver best-of-breed solutions and provide valuable energy & commodities trading industry expertise to Publicis Sapient Technology teams. Lead the design, planning, and implementation of complex IT solutions
  7. Unlock the value of energy & commodities clients’ data for their organization together with AI, machine learning, and analytics teams
  8. Deliver disruptive technology transformation that will help clients make the transition into the renewable and sustainable energy space


Qualifications

Your Skills & Experience

Technology

  1. Experience working as a technology leader within the industry, a technology advisor as a consultant, and/or an engineering or technical architecture role
  2. Extensive experience in leading architecture, design and delivery of modern Data and Cloud Technology solutions
  3. Experienced in creating large-scale architectures, estimating costs, managing dependencies and complexities
  4. Demonstrated ability to work across internal organizations to cast, pitch, and sell deals with relevant subject matter expertise
  5. Ability to translate the client’s business requirements into systems design, provide leadership and set technical direction to large project teams
  6. Provide technical leadership for the services provided for projects using ETRM products
  7. Strong understanding of one or more specialist solutions in the energy & commodities trading space, preferably Endur
  8. Strong understanding of foundational technologies as well as specialist solutions in the energy & commodities trading space, across cloud, packaged solutions, platforms, integration/API, data technologies, DevOps, quality engineering, network and communications with deep craft skills in one or more areas
  9. Bring a strong point of view on and understanding of build vs. buy, performance considerations, hosting, business intelligence, and reporting & analytics in the context of the energy & commodities domain

Business & Consulting

  1. Strong experience in energy & commodities trading domain. Experience in both physical and financial trading environments preferred
  2. Expertise applicable across Power, Gas, Oil, Coal, Emissions in exchange products (futures and options) and OTC products (swaps, swaptions, forwards)
  3. Ability to navigate a large organization and have the power of persuasion through content and confidence
  4. Strong consultative skills with proven experience in interfacing with and advising senior stakeholders up to the C Level, appropriately increasing/decreasing the level of detail for the audience
  5. Ability to drive the creation of proposals from a solution, architecture, estimation and plan standpoint
  6. Experienced in leading scaled-up engineering teams of 30+ individuals and demonstrating excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills

  1. Demonstrated ability to lead clients and our teams through the entire transformation journey, from ideation to delivery
  2. Understanding of energy upstream and downstream business functions (e.g. Power Generation, Renewables, Transmission, Distribution, R&D)
  3. Thought leadership experience e.g. writing blogs, creating PoV’s, possessing knowledge of industry trends, attending/presenting in internal/external technical forums, mentorship
