MediaTek Research is the research lab is at the forefront of artificial intelligence, focusing on both AI research projects with potential applications to chip design and other aspects of semiconductor solutions, as well as fundamental research with a commitment to advancing the scientific and open source community by regularly publishing in top conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and AISTATS.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Scientist to join our AI research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, mathematics, computer science, or physics, and a proven track record of research excellence. As a Research Scientist, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of AI and contribute to both applied and theoretical advancements in the field.
Our team operates on two directions, one with research projects focused on applications of AI to the design and optimization of semiconductors, and the other which aims at fundamental research that can contribute to both our applications and to the larger scientific community.

Example topics of our research include large language models (LLMs), optimization methods for deep learning, reinforcement learning (RL), and generative models.

Responsibilities:

•Conduct innovative research in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

•Develop and implement algorithms for chip design and optimization.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into our products.

•Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.

•Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and related fields.RequirementQualifications:

•PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or relevant research experience.

•Strong publication record in top conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS).

•Expertise in machine learning algorithms and techniques.

•Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.

•Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

•Strong communication skills and ability to present complex ideas clearly.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

•Experience in optimization, reinforcement learning, and/or large language models (LLMs)
•Experience in chip design and applied AI research.
•Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jax).
