Job Description Data Solution Architect - Permanent

The Data Solution Architect will be responsible for the design of Chubb’s data architecture and supporting the development of the organisation's functional data strategy and roadmaps. He or She is responsible for initially, determining and classifying which data assets should be treated as enterprise data, and then creating the requirements, principles, designs and models that strengthen the effect of sharing such data across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities Help deliver world class data capability which enables the business to realise value through consistent, accurate, reliable, and high-quality data and leading-edge data, reporting and analytical solutions Reimagine real-time data automation, continues integration and deployment in the regulated environment by embedding right control points in our key Agile processes to achieve strong compliance and sustainable velocity; while reducing friction between data governance, information architecture and data engineering teams Develop and delivery of big data solutions to enable a step change of insight into the high volumes of data across the global business functions Drive changes to data capabilities that anticipate changes to the business’ strategic direction leveraging the full capabilities in the data systems & insights centres of excellence Be responsible for the development of the requirements, principles, models and designs for the future-state enterprise data and analytics architecture Carry-out a gap analysis between the future-state and current-state data architectures, and work with other enterprise architects to develop roadmaps for the careful and planned transition to the future state. Oversee the implementation of enterprise data architecture through the organisation's enterprise data management programmes and deliver appropriate data-modelling and data design activities. Prepare conceptual and logical subject area models and implementation-level details that affect the continuum of disciplines involved in the architecture, design, implementation and management of enterprise information. Required Knowledge and Skills Bachelor's degree level educated or equivalent project-related experience. 3+ years enterprise data engineering or data architecture role In-depth experience in designing and implementing enterprise-wide cloud data and analytics platforms Detailed understanding of the data technology architecture, data development lifecycle and data tools and technologies, particularly in memory/in database and open-source technology Business domain, data/content and process understanding. System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with Web-oriented architecture techniques. Data-modelling and information classification expertise. Understanding of common information/data frameworks and data models, of the differences between relational modelling and object modelling, of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as of the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modelling) to less structured sources. Key Behaviours and Competencies Has demonstrated the ability to work well with others and be respected as a leader. An excellent communicator and collaborator across multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders. Must be able to translate the enterprise data architecture contribution to business outcomes into simple briefings. Has demonstrated the ability to work across cultural and language barriers. Presentation and facilitation and design-thinking skills.
