Karbon Homes is looking for a talented Data Scientist to join the Strategy, Place and Insight team, and work on projects that make a real impact. Our team leads on analysing and reporting data and customer insights for the organisation.

About the role

This exciting new position has been created as part of our transformation programme. This programme includes a significant investment in our data capacity and capabilities.

The Data Scientist will play a crucial role in enabling us to harness new data science methods and opportunities. They will lead the development of machine learning algorithms, including deep-learning. The role will involve application of AI, data mining and data visualisation tools to a variety of data sources, generating actionable insights by uncovering trends, patterns and anomalies.

The postholder would be responsible for designing and building cutting-edge statistical models. They will develop predictive and machine learning models to address business challenges and/or forecast outcomes.

Ultimately, this role involves translating data into valuable insights to inform business decisions, and the postholder will collaborate across business functions to define, communicate and implement solutions.

About you

We're looking for a skilled Data Scientist who is passionate about leveraging data and applying new data science techniques to drive meaningful change at Karbon Homes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and exceptional problem-solving abilities. You should be adept at using statistical methods, building new analytical models, maximising the potential of machine learning and data mining, and using data visualisation tools to inform business decisions.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are crucial, as you will need to present complex findings in an accessible manner to various stakeholders, including our Leadership team. You will be committed to stay updated on the latest data science techniques to apply them to our projects and challenges.

Key Information

  • Data Scientist - permanent role
  • Salary is £54,441 per annum
  • Location: Number Five, Gosforth Park Avenue, Gosforth Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EG
  • 37 hours per week with some flexible working between home and office
