Data Science Manager | Lloyd’s Market | London (Hybrid, 3 Days On-Site)


We're recruiting on behalf of atop-quartile Lloyd’s syndicateseeking an experiencedData Science Managerto lead innovation across underwriting, pricing, and digital strategy.


You’ll own and deliver impactful projects like Risk Ranking and ML-based profitability analysis—embedding data science into core decision-making and business operations.


Location:Central London (Hybrid: 3 days/week in-office)

Base Salary:Up to £120,000 (flexible up to £130,000)

Bonus:30–60% of base salary


What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the Data Science function and manage a team of 2 Data Scientists
  • Build and deploy ML models to support underwriting and portfolio decisions
  • Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and engineers to shape strategy
  • Contribute to pricing innovation, digital trading, and AI-based automation
  • Drive data integration across dashboards, assets, and tools


What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in a senior Data Science position (Lloyd’s/insurance preferred)
  • Strong Python and statistical modelling expertise
  • Leadership and stakeholder management experience
  • Exposure to Azure stack: Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, DevOps
