Data Governance Lead – Day Rate Contract (inside IR35)

We are partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Data Governance Lead to shape and implement enterprise-wide data governance strategies and delivery a data governnace programme. You must be willing to travel on-site in Reading.

You will play a pivotal role in establishing and enforcing data governance policies while supporting Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives to maintain consistent, accurate, and reliable data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
• Lead the Data Governance Council and drive strategic decision-making processes
• Establish data quality standards and ownership models across the organization
• Manage metadata and data cataloguing initiatives using tools like Azure Purview
• Provide training and education on data governance principles and best practices
• Monitor compliance with data-related regulations and manage associated risks

Essential Experience & Skills:

• 2-5 years' experience in data management and governance
• Proven track record in leading data governance initiatives and implementing frameworks
• Experience delivering a Data Governance Programme
• Strong expertise in data quality, protection, and policy development
• Experience with MDM, data dictionaries, and metadata management tools
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and lake house medallion architecture
• Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with major DBMS platforms

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with Python, Power BI, and big data technologies
• Experience with Profisee MDM and Azure Purview
