If you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impact, bring new ideas to life, and push boundaries, then CAVU is the place for you.

Together, we can reach new heights. Together, we are CAVU.

What’s the role?

CAVU is continuing its digital and data transformation, and we’re looking for a Data Engineer to help shape the next phase.

You'll be joining a centralised, expert data team that’s moving fast towards a modern, event-driven architecture. Our work underpins critical business decisions across product, commercial, and operations — and this role will have a big say in what we build next.

You’ll be responsible for designing and building robust, scalable data pipelines using PySpark, SQL and Databricks — enabling our analytics, BI and data science colleagues to unlock real value across the business.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who’s passionate about data quality, modern engineering practices, and continuous learning.

About You

You’re a problem-solver who enjoys working collaboratively and is comfortable experimenting with new tools and approaches. You have a strong foundation in data engineering and are ready to grow your expertise further — especially with tools like Databricks.

Here’s what will help you thrive in this role:

  • 2–5 years in data engineering or a related field
  • Strong PySpark and advanced SQL skills
  • Practical experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices

Nice to have:

  • Experience using Databricks Asset Bundles (DAB)
  • Working knowledge of GCP and/or Azure in multi-cloud environments
  • Familiarity with BigQuery or deployment automation tools like Harness

If you don’t tick every box but feel you could be a great fit, we’d still love to hear from you.

The Perks

  • 25 days holiday (plus the option to buy up to 10 more), increasing with service
  • 4 flexible bank holidays
  • 10% Company Pension
  • Annual Bonus Scheme
  • On-site Gym
  • MediCash Scheme
  • Up to 50% off CAVU products including Escape Lounges and Airport Parking
  • Retail and rail discounts
  • 2 paid volunteering days per year
  • Regular wellbeing and ID&E events
  • Learning grants and mentoring programme
  • Enhanced parental leave (T&Cs apply)

The Interview Process:

  • Recruiter Screen – A 15-minute conversation to explore your experience, aspirations, and questions.
  • 30 Minute teams call with the hiring manager
  • Small take home task
  • Final interview to talk through task

ID&E at CAVU

At CAVU, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity are central to who we are. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, and we encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities.

Research shows some people are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet every single qualification. If this sounds like you — and you’re excited by what we’re doing — please still apply.

We’re also happy to make reasonable adjustments to support individuals with disabilities through the recruitment process.
