Are you a recent graduate in Data or similar that wants to kick start their career? Look no further we have an exciting opportunity to join the Asda Head office Data Team.


Working within the Data and analytics team, you will work directly within our data team to produce complex data science models to identify and deliver business value across several key business processes. We support all areas of the business ranging from space optimisation in stores to analysing reasons for poor product availability within our stores.

You will be part of a team within a diverse data function, as well as supporting activities across the wider organisation, requiring a strong team work ethic and a desire to develop working relationships. This role proves many opportunities to further develop your communication, technical and analytical skillset and help support us in putting the customer first.

As Asda moves through its digital and data transformation, you’ll be joining Asda at the right time. Leveraging data and analytics is a foundation to Asda’s transformation strategy and you would be at the very heart of this!

  • Comfortable with languages such as Python or SQL for data processing and manipulation.
  • Understand how to extract, Transform, and load data from different sources into data lakes.
  • Understanding of data modelling, storing, and managing data.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and using machine learning models for predictive analytics.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering and continuously improve skills through self-learning and professional development opportunities.
