The Role:
As a Data Engineer at TLA, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising our data infrastructure, ensuring the seamless integration and flow of data that underpins our innovative automotive marketing solutions. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust ETL pipelines, managing data within Our Data-Hub. This role is critical in supporting the organisation's data-driven decisions and ensuring the availability, integrity, and usability of data across the company.
This data is essential for accessing the latest automotive industry information, client stock, retailer, and offer data, enabling us to maintain our competitive advantage. You will also ensure the accurate and timely delivery of customer data to our clients.
You will work closely with our Data Integration Manager to build ETL Pipelines with any API information they gather from our clients or external data providers. The role demands a blend of strategic, technical, and commercial acumen to manage data integrations effectively. You will identify opportunities for data optimisation and oversee the integration processes.
Core Experience and Skills:
•Data Modelling and Warehousing: Expertise in designing and managing data solutions within Azure, emphasising its scalability and flexibility for handling large-scale data storage and management. Understanding of data structures and formats that optimise storage and accessibility for downstream processing and analysis.
•ETL Tools and Processes: Experienced with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), or programming in Python to build and optimise data pipelines.
•Programming Languages: Proficiency in SQL.
•Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services, especially in configuring and managing resources related to data storage, processing, and analytics within the Azure cloud environment.
•Data Security and Compliance: Understanding of data security best practices, including data encryption, secure data transfer, and compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
•Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders, explaining complex data-related concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Professional Background:
•Professional Experience in Data Engineering: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in data engineering roles, particularly in environments that leverage cloud technologies. Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and ETL processes, for example using Azure tools like ADLS and ADF.
•Hands-On Experience with Azure Data Services: Proven experience with Azure.
•Data Architecture and Modelling: Experience in architecting data storage solutions in cloud environments, particularly focusing on scalability, performance optimisation, and cost efficiency. Familiarity with data modelling techniques suitable for both operational and analytical use cases.
•Industry Experience: Exposure to industry or domain-specific challenges and requirements can be beneficial. This includes understanding the specific data compliance and security measures relevant to the industry.
•Certifications: Typically, a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field is expected. Azure certifications such as the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate can be highly advantageous. Other relevant certifications in data science, machine learning, or cloud architecture could also be valuable.

Additional Role Requirements:
Must be able to commute to Liverpool (hybrid working with each Monday and Tuesday in the office each week).
