Robert Half have partnered with a fast growing (PE backed) organisation based in central London who are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in managing and optimising data pipelines, with expertise in the specified tech stack including Power BI, Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Server, and Oracle. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data solutions to support their upcoming projects across business intelligence and analytics.
This is a 4-5 month (potential to extend) day rate contract paying £300 a day (outside IR35)
You will be required in the their city based office 1-2 times a week
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines using tools such as Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Server, and Oracle. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Optimise data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability. Develop and maintain data models and schemes to support business reporting and analytics requirements. Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the pipeline. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues and provide timely resolution. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data visualisation and analysis. Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and business intelligence.
Requirements
3-5 years of experience working as a Data Engineer with proficiency in Power BI, Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Server, and Oracle. Strong SQL skills and experience with database optimisation techniques. Experience designing and implementing data pipelines using ETL/ELT frameworks. Proficiency in data modelling. Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
