Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our data engineering team on a 1-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to automate and optimize data and reporting processes, while supporting our AI initiatives and modernizing our toolset.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Project Engagement:
    • Build integrations to automate channel ratings and streaming data.
    • Support departments in automating data and reporting.
    • Clean and transform data for reporting and AI initiatives.
    • Build reporting/solution ready datasets.
    • Generate innovative ideas for automation, modernizing toolsets, and supporting artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.
  • Agile Participation:Contribute to and partake in standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Stakeholder Interaction:Engage with stakeholders across all departments, including marketing, finance, legal, product, commercial, and operations.

Technological Proficiency

  • SQL (Snowflake data warehouse) and Python experience 
  • Git
  • Tableau
  • Visual Studio Code
  • Amazon Web Services (S3, Lambda, Glue, API Gateway, Kinesis, IAM)
  • Integrations (Email, SFTP, API, Webhooks, Streaming)
  • Data Formats and Structures (XML, Excel, CSV, TSV, JSON, AVRO, Parquet)


Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • Self-Starter:Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Confident Speaker:Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting and discussing ideas.
  • Technically Inclined:Proficiency and enthusiasm for technical tools and methodologies.
  • Solutions Focused:Ability to think critically and provide effective solutions.
  • Collaborator:Excellent teamwork skills, able to work effectively with others.
  • Positive Attitude:Maintain a positive and proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong Work Ethic:Commitment to high standards of work quality and integrity.
