Data Analyst: Motor Insurance or Automotive Industry


Location: West Berkshire - Hybrid working 2 days in the office


Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Negotiable DOE (9 day fortnight option)

We’re working with a valued and respected client who is looking to grow their analytical team with two additional bright and enthusiastic Data Analysts.


Acting as the bridge between business and technical teams, you’ll focus on maximising the value of our data assets. You’ll analyse data to understand how it’s used and the value it brings to the organisation, while working closely with stakeholders to capture their requirements and map their processes. Collaborating with both stakeholders and the wider Enterprise Data team, you’ll help design and deliver high-quality data solutions that support the needs of both internal and external customers.


About the Role


Key Responsibilities

  • Technical analysis of data sets to understand structure, quality and use of data in order to inform delivery of products
  • Translating business requirements into repeatable insight for the wider business and external customers
  • Plan, develop and update the complex modelling and analysis activities to produce research outputs and findings for delivery to member insurers and stakeholders.
  • Liaising with wider Enterprise data team to deliver data products by providing business requirements and technical understanding of data sets
  • Liaison with other departments to build relationships and transfer knowledge in order to provide research and evidence to support development of other departments’ research and processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • c2 – 3+ years within a proven commercial Data Analysis role ideally supported by a relevant STEM degree
  • Data Analysis skills including good SQL knowledge
  • Experience with related/complementary software such as Power BI and Python
  • Understanding of ETL process and data warehousing concepts
  • Be confident to handle and model large amounts of data, create solutions and solve problems to answer key business questions.
  • Ability to elicit requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into actionable data solutions
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail with good presentation skills
  • Understanding of or an interest in the motor insurance and automotive industry would be an advantage.
