Data Analyst - More in Common UK

More in Common is seeking a full-time Data Analyst as we grow our team and advance our mission of building a more united and inclusive UK, where all people feel respected, better understood, and share a sense of belonging. This role will be based in our London office Monday‑Thursday, with Friday flexible to either office or home. The postholder will report to our Research and Analysis Manager.


Base pay range

Competitive salary (£37,000-£47,000) plus excellent benefits including private health insurance, generous leave policy, and a personal learning and growth budget.

About This Role

  • Translate public opinion data into insights for diverse audiences including policymakers, media, and the general public.
  • Perform analysis using cluster analysis, multi‑level regression modeling, conjoint analysis, MaxDiff analysis and other techniques.
  • Create compelling stories through creative data visualisation.
  • Proactively expand the team’s analytical capabilities.
  • Manage end‑to‑end public opinion research projects from design to execution, analysis and presentation of insights.
  • Conduct quantitative fieldwork including survey drafting and advanced survey experiments.
  • Support global colleagues with research queries and continually innovate on research methodologies.
  • Write well and communicate technical stories to non‑technical audiences.
  • Manage external relationships with clients, partners and research vendors.
  • Identify and recruit new partners and opportunities across business, civil society and the public sector.
  • Design insights products to disseminate research findings and draft/public‑facing reports and briefings.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in coding, preferably in R – a requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated expertise extracting meaningful insights from complex data sets.
  • Strong data visualisation skills.
  • Good understanding of statistical methods including regression modelling and hypothesis testing.
  • Curiosity for learning new analytical techniques.
  • Track record of project management.
  • Desire to tell new stories that build upon common ground in Britain today.
  • Understanding of the UK political system and keen interest in current affairs and public policy.

We understand that not everyone with the required skillset for this role will come from a political background – that is fine! We are more interested in your technical skillset and your willingness to apply it to tackling some of the biggest issues in understanding the forces driving British society apart.
