Hybrid Working

We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Starling - our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we're able to interact and collaborate in person. In Technology, we're asking that you attend the office a minimum of 1 day per week.

Responsibilities:

Translate data requirements from across the organisation into robust and reusable data models Liaise with business stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to understand pain points and areas of focus and scope out opportunities to optimise Starling’s internal processes Maintain consistent and clear documentation and evidence strong data governance  Collaborate with the wider data team to help meet the business goals, including peer reviews  Take ownership of a project end-to-end and manage priorities accordingly

Requirements

Strong experience with SQL, preferably using cloud based infrastructure GCP Strong understanding of banking products, processes and structure Self-starter with ability to think outside the box Good attention to detail Strong experience with Looker or a similar visualisation tool Strong communication and documentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

Desirable Requirements

Strong experience with dbt or a desire to learn Experience working within the Banking/Financial Services sector Experience using Python

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. In general you can expect the below, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:

Stage 1 - 45 mins with one of the team Stage 2 - Take home challenge Stage 3 - 60 mins technical interview with two team members Stage 3 - 45 min final with an executive and a member of the people team
