The Package 

Annual Salary - Offering a competitive salary of circa £40K but this will be dependant on experience together with eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual bonus scheme with an excellent benefits package.

Location- Walsall

Hybrid Working Pattern - Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week, starting and finishing times to be agreed, with at least 3 days in the office and 2 days to be based at home home.

Annual Leave - 25 days plus public/bank holidays

Job Purpose

You would be required to prepare and analyse data into actionable insights that business decisions. The role combines data engineering and analytical responsibilities with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, report automation, and business performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Automation

· Develop, test, and maintain ETL pipelines; experience with Python and Azure Functions is advantageous.

· Design, build, and manage robust data models to support business reporting needs.

· Automate and streamline manual reporting processes using tools such as Power BI.

· Ensure all data handling adheres to CET’s data security protocols and complies with the Data Protection Act (DPA).

Reporting & Analysis

· Generate, verify, and distribute client MI reports both in Power BI and Excel, ensuring timely delivery and data accuracy.

· Maintain and update forecast data within Excel-based models and lookup tables.

· Provide clear, concise analysis to stakeholders, highlighting trends, variances, and areas of concern.

· Respond promptly to ad-hoc data requests, delivering insightful and actionable outputs.

Stakeholder Engagement

· Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, validate outputs, and refine reporting.

· Lead performance reviews and present insights to operational and client management teams.

· Maintain comprehensive documentation of reporting processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and auditability.

Financial & KPI Reporting

· Support month-end financial activities, including reporting against budget, forecast, and key business KPIs.

· Continue ownership of weekly KPI tracking and reporting processes.

· Support reforecasting processes and actively seek opportunities to automate.

· Provide pricing and performance modelling support for HE client accounts.

· Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required.

Required Skills & Experience

· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Power BI

· Experience with Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports) is desirable

· Experience with Microsoft Power Automate is desirable

· Data engineering experience in Python, and Azure Functions is desirable.

· VBA Proficiency in Excel, with strong analytical and data manipulation skills.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate data into business value.

· A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and process documentation.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Qualifications

· Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering).

· Experience working in a finance, operations, or client reporting environment.
