Location: Milton Keynes

Hybrid working -3 days per week in the office


Salary: £32,500 - £36,500


Job overview:


We are excited to invite applications for the position of Data Analyst at a respected Higher Education institution undergoing a significant period of transformation and growth. This is a pivotal role within the Financial Systems team, offering you the chance to work on key projects that improve data quality, streamline financial processes, and support the broader institutional strategy.


As a Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data, working closely with both finance and academic teams to enhance reporting and automation capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for problem-solving to make a real impact in a dynamic, evolving environment.


Essential skills:


  • Educated to degree level or relevant work experience
  • An advanced level of experience in Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical acumen
  • Proactive and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills as well as an ability to manage stakeholders at all levels


Desirable skills:


  • Finance background or having experience working on a finance system
  • Experience of finance implementations or process improvement
  • Experience working in a Higher Education setting


Reporting into the Financial Systems and Data Manager you will be responsible for analysing data in the existing financial and associated business systems to enhance processes and data quality.


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring data integrity, effective operation of processes and controls, and the timely and accurate production of student invoicing using data from the Student Management System.
  • The role is integral to the development of key systems and processes, including the development of process automations and ensuring data integrity in the finance system and the University's student management system.
