We’re looking for a data analyst to join our team and help us bring new tools, technologies, and techniques to life as we tackle Thames Water’s current and future challenges.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering insights and data analysis for the UK’s largest Water and Wastewater Company. It’s a fantastic opportunity to grow your career, put your skills to the test, support your colleagues, and use your data expertise to solve real-world problems.
Your work will help drive improvements across the business and shape important decisions. Day to day, you’ll be building logic, developing reports and data flows, providing analysis and insights, and working with tools like SQL, Power BI, and Python within the Azure ecosystem.
What you’ll be doing as a Data Analyst
- Working with large and diverse data sets from internal and external sources, including environmental data, survey feedback, and operational data.
- Designing and managing databases, carrying out data transformations, and collaborating with teams to improve our ways of working.
- Supporting the business by working closely with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a variety of reports.
- Becoming a key point of contact, building strong relationships with colleagues, and engaging with stakeholders to drive our objectives forward. Your insights will help inform important operational decisions.
- Ensuring data quality is maintained, keeping information secure, and making sure all data is used properly in line with GDPR.
Base location
Reading, Kemble Court, RG2 6AD
Working hours
Monday to Friday, either 9 AM–5 PM or 8 AM–4 PM.
Work format
Hybrid, with at least one or two days a week in the office.
What you should bring to the role
- We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in databases, data analysis, and reporting.
- If you have experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, or the Azure data engineering ecosystem, that’s a big plus.
- Familiarity with tools like Business Objects, and Microsoft Office is also beneficial, especially if you know how to present complex information engagingly.
- A degree (or equivalent) in an analytical field—such as Science, Maths, or Geography—would be an advantage.
