Communications Manager, Derby (Hybrid), DOE

Hexwired Recruitment have partnered with a growing manufacturing company in the defence industry. They are now seeking a Communications Manager to support the growth of the company by managing media relations and crafting impactful press releases to develop internal communication channels and provide support during crises, this position encompasses a wide range of communication disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all internal and external communications, ensuring messages are consistent, engaging, and impactful
  
  
• Manage media relationships, prepare spokespeople, and proactively create press releases within a high-profile environment
  
  
• Develop and implement communication strategies that cultivate stakeholder loyalty and advocacy
  
  
• Bring creativity, innovation, and determination to the development of new channels and content, both internally and externally
  
  
• Manage, support, and develop a team of skilled Communication Leads
  
  Key Requirements:
  
  
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  
  
• Strong abilities in storytelling, message development, and channel management
  
  
• Expertise in media relations, with an understanding of the media landscape – building and nurturing relationships with journalists and other key stakeholders
  
  
• A proven track record of collaboration and successful delivery across various stakeholder groups
  
  Desirable Skills/Experience:
  
  
• Experience managing a successful and motivated communications team
  
  
• A solid understanding of the Defence industry, with established relationships with national, trade, and local media in the Defence sector
