The Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a dynamic team, taking full ownership of commercial activities across business operations. This autonomous role reports directly to the Business Development and Commercial Director, working closely with Operational, Business Development and Business Support Partner Teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support commercial strategy development and execution across all business areas.
  • Manage complex contract negotiations, from bid to completion.
  • Develop and maintain key customer and supplier relationships.
  • Oversee pricing strategies and proposal development, with focus on through-life cost optimisation.
  • Ensure commercial governance and risk management compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes.
  • Support business growth initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Champion value-maximising commercial solutions for asset management.
  • Support our EDI initiatives through inclusive commercial practices.
  • Contribute to CSR activities and sustainable strategies.


The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Engineering, or related field
  • Excellent contract negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Proven commercial management experience in relevant sectors
  • Experience in bid management and pricing strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong understanding of government and commercial frameworks (desirable)
  • Experience in through-life cost management and asset optimisation (desirable)
  • MCIPS qualification (desirable)


Overview

Position – Commercial Manager – Permanent

Location – Remote (Occasional travel to site office in Gloucestershire)
