All the details As a Commercial Data Analyst within the M&S Financial Services team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping strategic decisions through data‑driven insight. By harnessing a deep understanding of our customers, propositions, products, payments, and loyalty schemes, you’ll deliver clear, actionable analysis that drives commercial performance and enhances customer experience. Your work will directly influence key initiatives, helping us to better serve our customers and evolve our financial services offering in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Deliver analysis to enhance M&S Financial Services products, propositions, customer journeys and customer communications
  • Provide insight into performance and undertake deep dive analysis to understand trends, inform changes to propositions and identify opportunities to grow FS reach
  • Analyse and develop a deep understanding of customer behaviours by segment, channel and proposition, translating this knowledge into ways to grow spend, improve customer journeys and increase revenue
  • Deliver analysis that shapes the Financial Services loyalty programme, ensuring we are operating to drive incremental spend and meet customer needs
  • Forecast the impact of new propositions on the P&L via a deep understanding of how current product use drives spend & engagement. To support annual product budget processes and forecasts (customer volumes and product use)

Who You Are

  • Highly analytical and able to underpin and drive decisions with data and insight
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to take a broad view of the business and identify the relevant information for decision making
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL or Python
  • Knowledge of simple statistical and data science techniques (e.g. forecasting, regression, clustering etc)
  • Highly proficient in MS suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and MS Power BI
