Job overview

North Central London Cancer Alliance (NCLCA) is looking for a Cancer Data Analyst to join our growing team in improving cancer outcomes for the population of North Central London.
NCLCA is a collaboration of NHS and other bodies, hosted by University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We work to promote early diagnosis, optimise pathways, reduce variation, provide personalised support for patients, and build service resilience. Patients and carers are at the heart of what we do.

This is an exciting time to join the Alliance, as we seek to drive forward an ambitious strategy, in collaboration with the NCL Integrated Care System. We work in partnership with multiple NHS providers across primary and secondary care and with local authorities in North Central London (the Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Haringey, Barnet and Enfield).
The role focuses on delivering data products and analyses to support NCLCA, leveraging modern business intelligence, automating data pipelines, and creating high-quality visualizations. Key non-technical responsibilities include simplifying data access, translating complex information for diverse stakeholders, building relationships, representing NCLCA in national networks, and strengthening partnerships with NCL ICB.

Main duties of the job

• Utilise SQL and Python to extract and manipulate cancer-related data from various databases.
• Develop and maintain interactive and visually compelling reports using Power BI.
• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of cancer data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide data-driven insights.
• Take a lead on BAU reporting.
• Work with stakeholders to interpret and apply regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis correctly.
• Develop knowledge of and work flexibly across the full NCLCA portfolio of programmes.
