Business Data Analyst – Master Data (MDM) Focus – IT Consultancy – £575–675pd Inside IR35 – Remote


Overview:

I’m currently partnered with a leading IT consultancy delivering cutting-edge data and digital solutions for enterprise clients across retail, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. As part of a growing pipeline of master data transformation initiatives, the team is seeking a skilled Data Analyst / Business Analyst with strong MDM experience, particularly around product and item-level data.


The ideal candidate will approach this role with a primary mindset of a Business Analyst and coach, able to understand and translate business needs, engage stakeholders, and guide teams, while also bringing a secondary perspective as a hands-on technologist.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistency, quality, and value of product-related master data across the enterprise.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis, cleansing, and modelling of complex master/product/item-level data to support analytics and reporting
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and coach teams on data best practices
  • Manage and optimise product data pipelines using Informatica P360
  • Design data workflows and perform advanced analysis with Azure Data Services and Databricks
  • Act as a key liaison between business and technical teams, translating needs into structured solutions
  • Champion data governance, quality, and alignment across systems and domains
  • Build dashboards and insights to monitor and manage master data health


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst with a Business Analyst mindset, ideally within consultancy or large-scale project environments
  • Deep hands-on experience with Informatica P360 or other MDM platforms (e.g. Stibo, Riversand, Semarchy)
  • Strong understanding of master data principles, especially product and item-level data domains
  • Proficiency in Azure Stack (ADF, Azure SQL, Synapse) and Databricks
  • Advanced SQL skills and data modelling expertise
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills
