We are looking for a BIData Analystto join our Huws Gray Supply Chain Solutions team in Nottingham!


*This is a office based role so you must be able to commute to Nottingham (NG16 2TA)5 days a week*

Our Supply Chain Solutions team work with Public Sector and Local Authority customers and serve them with their building material needs through our Partnering Stores across the UK, Distribution Centres, Rapid Response Delivery Vehicles and Van Stock. We enable them to create and maintain their housing stock with our products where and when they need them.


We are looking for a BIData Analyst to join our team based in Nottingham. You will be responsible for developing reports and troubleshooting data issues. This is an extremely fast paced team, so we're looking for the ideal candidate to have a great eye for detail as well as a good understanding of data analysis tools and databases, including SQL & Tableau. You'll need to be comfortable to deliver at pace, and engage with our stakeholders both within and outside of the organisation. We take pride in the inquisitive nature of our team, as we delve into the details of our business to support smart, effective decision making.


Here’s a quick overview of some of the things you can expect to do as a BI Data Analyst with Huws Gray:


  • Ongoing maintenance of the reports schedule.
  • Running of internal and customer manual reports in MS Excel.
  • Creating and developing regular data sets at various frequencies.
  • Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports.
  • Providing accurate data for customers and colleagues via SQL and other visualisation software (PowerBI, Tableau, etc).
  • Managing our current BI customer data solution, including extract refreshes, user license distribution, and user access permissions.
  • Ensuring sales data is robust and reconciles back to customer accounts.
  • Developing in-depth KPI information for customer review meetings.
  • Maintain close working relationship with sales and commercial teams.
  • Innovation and report improvements.
  • Ad hoc administrative responsibilities.

  • Reporting toolkit experience (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
  • Able to take a logical approach to solving problems.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must show calmness, confidence and perseverance in demanding situations.
