Your Role And Responsibilities

Step into a dynamic role as an Azure Data Engineer supporting IBM and public health sector initiatives. In this position, you will lead complex data and analytics projects, drive technical innovation, and provide guidance to junior team members.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of Azure‑based data and analytics solutions to address complex challenges in the public health sector.
  • Mentor and support junior data engineers in building their technical and professional skills.
  • Perform statistical analysis, data collection, data mining, and text mining to support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Architect, build, and manage end‑to‑end data solutions for analytics and reporting.
  • Use advanced analytics and predictive tools, such as SPSS, to generate insights and communicate findings effectively.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree


Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Extensive experience with data engineering principles and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL).
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools (Pandas, NumPy, Dask).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).


Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Background in data science, IT consulting, or a related field.

Desirable Certifications

  • Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP‑203)
  • Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900), or equivalent.
