Role Overview

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and optimising data pipelines and architecture in our Azure environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong SQL skills and a background in Azure data services, looking to play a key role in transforming and scaling our data operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines in Azure.
  • Build and optimise data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory.
  • Design and implement data models and data warehouses using Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering best practices.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and querying.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics & Azure Data Lake
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Python for scripting and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with Azure Databricks.
  • Background in the insurance or financial services industry.
