Our client is seeking an AWS Data Engineer with experience in Python to join their team on a freelance Inside IR35 contract expected to last 6 months, with potential for additional extensions. This position would require 3 days a week on-site in Belfast and 2 days remote.



  • Contract type: Freelance B2B.
  • Location: 3 days a week on-site in Belfast, 2 days remote.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of the AWS ecosystem and core cloud services relevant to data engineering.
  • Expert‑level Python developer with experience using data processing libraries (Spark, Pandas, Polars, etc.).
  • Good understanding of CI/CD practices and experience working with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data modelling, and distributed data processing.
  • Experience working with open table formats, with Apache Iceberg strongly preferred (other formats such as Delta Lake or Hudi are also acceptable).
