The role Position: Head ofData Contract type: Full Time Reporting to: CTO Location: LondonOverview of role Zodiac Maritime have embarked on a digitaltransformation programme, the scope of which touches most parts ofthe business. Central to this, and critical to our ongoing successis recognising and repositioning data as a strategic asset. Werecognise that there is a significant amount to do in this regardand are looking for a highly capable data leader to shape and drivethe data agenda forward. You will be comfortable building the team;establishing policies and procedures; developing data architecture;improving data quality; leveraging technology; and, mostimportantly, bringing the rest of the business along with you. TheHead of Data will primarily be responsible for establishing andgoverning the company's master data on key assets such as vessels,equipment, crew, among others. This role involves creating a robustand compliant data infrastructure, maintaining data integrity, andpromoting a culture that values data accuracy and accessibility.Key responsibilities and primary deliverables - Engaging withsenior management to understand their business needs andestablishing a strong data-driven approach to decision-makingacross the organisation - Formulate and implement a data governancestrategy and framework to manage data throughout its lifecyclealigned with the company’s business objectives. - Being the chiefadvisor to senior management on all data issues across theportfolio, ensuring data is managed as a strategic asset and actingas the Subject Matter Expert on data across the business. - Overseethe establishment and maintenance of master data (vessels,equipment, crew, etc.), ensuring data integrity, accuracy, andconsistency across all systems. - Collaborate with different teamsto identify data needs and ensure the reliability of master data. -Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and standards, andimplement data governance principles. - Direct the development andmaintenance of data dictionaries, and define data standards,policies, and procedures. - Work with IT and data teams to designand implement data architecture, systems and tools that enhancedata collection, storage, and retrieval. - Foster a data-focusedculture within the organization, training and supporting teams inutilising master data effectively. - Regularly review and audit themaster data to maintain quality and resolve any discrepancies. -Act as the primary point of contact and communicate withstakeholders regarding all data-related matters. - Delivering astep change in data quality and building effective Data QualityManagement practices into business processes - Implementing dataanalytics effectively, identifying and building the businessintelligence tools and capabilities that create insights from datawhich improve commercial return. - Ensuring compliance with dataprotection and privacy regulations - Knowledge of relevantapplications, big data solutions, and tools Skills profile Relevantexperience & education - You will be an experienced data leaderused to transforming all data aspects of a successful businesstransitioning away from legacy technologies. - Bachelor's degree ininformation technology or related field, Master's degree preferred.- Proven experience as a Head of Data or similar executive rolewith a focus on master data management. - Deep understanding ofdata management best practices, including data governance, quality,and privacy. - Excellent leadership, communication, and projectmanagement skills. - Experience with relevant data management andvisualization tools. - Ability to translate complex data-relatedissues into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders. -Experience building and managing teams. - Strong project managementskills. - High degree of data literacy. - Exceptionallyanalytically minded.
