About the RoleThe Director of Data Analytics and AI is a pivotal leadership roleresponsible for overseeing the organisations Automation and AI andAnalytical Research and Insight functions. This individual willdrive the transformation of data operations to align with thecapabilities of the new Expert Platform, ensuring that bothfunctions seamlessly migrate to and serve its evolving needs.Reporting to the Chief Product and Technical Officer (CPTO), thisperson will work closely with the Director of Innovation and theDirector of Product to ensure the adoption and productionisation ofdata automation and AI. They will advocate for innovativeapproaches to data collection, analytics, and research whilemaintaining a strong focus on governance, security, and ethical AIpractices that benefit the organisation and its customers.Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Leadership o Develop and implement avision for the Automation and AI, and Analytical Research andInsight functions. o Lead the migration of existing data operationsto the Expert Platform, ensuring alignment with its architectureand goals. o Act as an inspirational thought leader for introducingnew data methodologies, AI technologies, and innovative analyticsstrategies. 2. Oversight of Core Functions o A. Automation and AI +Build and lead a team to develop automation pipelines, AI models,and workflows. + Leverage machine learning and AI to optimise datacollection, validation, and anomaly detection. + Drive innovationby exploring and implementing AI agents and other emerging AItechnologies. + Ensure governance and security are integral to allAI and automation processes. o B. Analytical Research and Insight +Oversee the production of advanced analytics and research outputsto inform decision-making. + Develop and deliver client-centricinsights, reports, and dashboards tailored to the Expert Platform.+ Foster collaboration between the insights function and otherteams to align data products with client needs. + Explore new areasof data and research that align with evolving client demands andindustry trends. 3. Collaboration and Adoption o Work closely withthe Director of Innovation and Director of Product to drive theadoption and productionisation of data automation and AI. o Aligndata functions with product development and innovation pipelines toensure seamless integration into the Expert Platform. o Advocatefor the use of advanced analytics and automation across theorganisation to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.4. Governance and Security o Establish robust governance frameworksto ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance. o Promotebest practices in AI governance, ensuring that all solutions adhereto ethical, secure, and transparent principles. o Implementcontrols to ensure that AI applications align with customer andorganisational security requirements. 5. Team Leadership o Manageand mentor a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, analysts,and researchers. o Cultivate a culture of collaboration,innovation, and continuous improvement. o Ensure knowledgeretention and upskilling of team members to adapt to emergingtechnologies. 6. Stakeholder Engagement o Act as a liaison betweendata functions and other organisational units, ensuring alignmenton objectives. o Communicate complex analytics and AI strategies tonon-technical stakeholders. o Maintain strong relationships withinternal and external stakeholders to advance the organisation’sdata vision. The Ideal Candidate: Qualifications and Skills 1.Education o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science,Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or arelated field. o A PhD in a relevant discipline is advantageous. 2.Experience o At least 10 years of experience in data, analytics, orAI, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role. o Proven success inmanaging automation, analytics, and research functions,particularly in transitioning to new platforms. o Expertise incloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS) and data migration projects. 3.Technical Expertise o Advanced knowledge of AI/ML technologies,automation tools, and analytics platforms. o Strong understandingof data integration, pipelines, and cloud-based workflows. oProficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) anddata visualisation tools. 4. Leadership Skills o Exceptionalleadership, project management, and team-building capabilities. oStrategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving. oExcellent communication skills, with the ability to conveytechnical concepts to diverse audiences. o Proven track record ofmanaging a departmental P&L.
