Role Requirements
Skills/Competencies
- Coding: The role is heavily focussed on how to take existing processes and make them more efficient and ideally, code them using python so the ability to interrogate excel models and translate to python is a must.
- Technical: This role will be the first actuarial data analyst as part of a wider digitisation initiative. Therefore ability to understand mathematical and statistical techniques (such as reserving and pricing) will be required.Candidate does not have to be a trained actuary, but someone who understands how to project and forecast.
- Communication: Communicates well one on one, in small groups and public speaking. Fluent, quick on feet, command of language. Keeps people informed. Writes clear, precise, well-organised documents using appropriate vocabulary, grammar & word usage.
- Judgement / decision making: Consistent rationality & objectivity in decision making.
- Flexibility : Respond to demand for actuarial support across the organisation.
Experience
- Proficient in Python .
- Experience using R and SQL are desirable.

Qualifications
- 2:1 in a highly numerate degree (preference towards degrees requiring coding).
