Software Engineer - 6-Month Contract

Day Rate: £600 per day
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Manchester/ Hybrid
Start: ASAP

The Role

We are looking for an experiencedSoftware Engineer to join a high-performing technology team on an initial6-month contract, working on complex, scalable software solutions with a strong focus onAWS, Java and AI-enabled technology.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working atsystem level, solving complex technical problems and building robust, reliable solutions within a modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable software solutions usingJava and AWS.
  • Take asystem-level approach to software engineering, understanding how applications, platforms and services interact.
  • Work across complexthird-party integrations, APIs and external platforms.
  • Develop and maintainrobust automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality and reliable software.
  • Contribute to the integration and embedding ofAI capabilities into existing and new technology solutions.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, product teams and other stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities for improving system performance, scalability and resilience.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and production environments.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong commercial experience as aSoftware Engineer / Software Developer.
  • StrongJava development experience.
  • Hands-on experience withAWS and cloud-based architectures.
  • Strong understanding ofsystem-level thinking and distributed systems.
  • Experience working withthird-party integrations, APIs and external systems.
  • Strong knowledge ofautomated testing and robust test frameworks.
  • Experience working with or embeddingAI/ML capabilities into software products or platforms.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability and performance.
  • Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced technology environments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
