Senior Data Scientist - BioTech - London

A pioneering London-based biotech company are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join their team.

What will I be doing?

  • Drive breakthrough algorithm development that's never been done before. You'll be the technical powerhouse behind revolutionary nanopore technology, transforming impossibly noisy time-series data into game-changing insights for biomedical discovery.
  • Own the full journey from concept to production deployment:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of world-class scientists and engineers
  • Make your mark on the future of proteomics - your algorithms will directly enable discoveries that could revolutionize drug development and diagnostics.

What are we looking for?

  • PhD (or MSc + equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Bioinformatics
  • 5+ years post-qualification experience tackling complex technical challenges
  • Expert-level Python programming (NumPy, PyTorch/TensorFlow, SciPy, pandas)
  • Deep expertise in time-series and sequence modelling (RNNs, LSTMs, transformers, attention mechanisms)
  • Strong foundation in probabilistic models (HMMs, Bayesian inference, graphical models)
  • Track record of delivering impactful research or production systems

What's in it for me?

  • Salary of £80,000 - £100,000 dependent on experience
  • Work with cutting-edge nanopore technology that's literally the first of its kind
  • Series A funding from prestigious investors including NATO Innovation Fund
  • Team includes veterans from Oxford Nanopore and other leading biotech companies
  • 4 days in office
