  • Enhance the desk's ability to monitor and optimise execution performance through data-driven insights

Execution & Market Analytics

  • Build advanced analytics to assess execution quality, transaction costs, and venue performance
  • Analyse trading flow, liquidity dynamics, and market structure to inform trading strategy
  • Deliver insights that support optimal routing, order placement, and trading decision-making
  • Continuously improve methodologies for performance attribution and benchmarking

Reporting & Data Automation

  • Own the design and delivery of reporting frameworks, including management information and operational analytics
  • Develop client-facing reports covering execution analytics, transparency, and performance metrics
  • Build scalable data pipelines and automation frameworks to streamline reporting and enhance efficiency
  • Lead development of cost and activity-based analytics, including pricing and invoicing support

Data Science, Coding & Innovation

  • Act as a hands-on analytics specialist, applying strong programming skills to solve complex trading problems
  • Leverage modern data science, machine learning, and AI techniques to enhance insight generation
  • Drive innovation in analytics and tooling, introducing new approaches to improve trading outcomes
  • Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with front-office requirements

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management

  • Engage directly with clients to explain analytics outputs and provide actionable insights
  • Support client discussions with clear, data-driven narratives
  • Collaborate across trading, sales, product, technology, risk, and control functions
  • Contribute to strengthening the overall value proposition through differentiated analytics offerings

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience in front-office analytics, trading tools, or electronic trading environments (preferably equities/DMA)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or SQL with the ability to build production-quality solutions
  • Good understanding of cash equities market structure and execution workflows
  • Experience working closely with traders or on a trading desk
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytics into clear insights

Desirable

  • Experience within Prime Brokerage or Sponsored Access environments
  • Exposure to client-facing analytics or reporting solutions
  • Familiarity with transaction cost analysis (TCA), execution benchmarking, or flow analytics
  • Experience applying machine learning or AI techniques in a trading or analytics context

Competencies & Attributes

  • Commercial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced front-office environment
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented

Where to Advertise Machine Learning Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise machine learning jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and communities that reach ML, MLOps and deep learning engineering talent. The candidate pool is small, highly specialised and in demand across AI labs, financial services, healthcare, autonomous systems and consumer technology simultaneously. Machine learning engineers and researchers move between roles through professional networks, conference communities and specialist platforms — not general job boards where ML roles compete with unrelated software engineering positions for the same audience. This guide, published by MachineLearningJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise machine learning roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
